Website Launched to Support Caribbean High School Students in CSEC (CXC) Exams

(PRWEB) February 3, 2008 -- A new website, www.Caribbeanischool.com, was launched on Wednesday, January 30, 2008 at the Alhambra Inn, Jamaica to support preparation for exams administered by the Caribbean Examinations Council (CXC) at the Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC) level.

The website is the brainchild of Chairman Christian Stokes, who hails from a family of educators. His philosophy is that Caribbeanischool.com represents the democratization of quality education which may be accessed by all. Caribbeanischool.com has also forged a partnership with the Jamaica Observer's Lecture Series to bring the highest level of content to Caribbean students. The website was lauded at the launch by Mr. Ruel Reid, Principal of Jamaica College and past president of the Jamaica Teachers Association, as an innovation and a step in the right direction.

Caribbeanischool.com is a web-based institution dedicated to the effective delivery of a high quality online educational experience for high school level students in the Caribbean. The website facilitates learning in an environment increasingly used for socialization and entertainment, the Internet. The site provides fully interactive multimedia courses, online communities and allows for creative input of learning content from both teachers and students. Courses are authored by experts in their field and are available to students 24 hours per day.

Students may explore each module at their own pace, complete the corresponding tests and track their progress over time. Students may wish to have an online tutor, work through answers to past papers, or receive study tips via cell phone text messages or attend an online interactive class. Information is also available on various subject syllabi, past papers, exam schedules and good study habits.

Because www.Caribbeanischool.com is web-based, students may go to school whenever and wherever they feel comfortable. The classroom may be accessed from the computer, the cell phone or an iPod through text messaging, podcasts both video and audio. Students may also interact with their peers through the blogs and forums.

Caribbeanischool.com is a product of Conspicio Ltd., which was started for the purpose of delivering quality, reliable, comprehensive and interactive educational material to targeted groups interested in particular courses of study. Conspicio is a Latin word meaning "to behold, perceive and understand," which is what the company wishes to facilitate via web-based media.

The website was created by Wayne Marsh of WSI/e-Business Solutions Ltd., an internet consulting company. Students may subscribe to the site for nominal fees.
